Our New Playlists

Welcome to my New Playlists blog. I went into four different cultures and four different countries. I traveled to Korea, Nicaragua, Japan, and New Zealand. I studied the modern music of Korea, the traditional music of Nicaragua, the modern music of Japan and the traditional music of New Zealand. I chose 4 different ones and ones we had not studied to broaden my horizons and make me more diverse in my musical world. They were all so different, but they were all so good. I learned so much information and learned how they are intertwined. I hope you enjoy learning about these cultures as much as I did. Have fun traveling!       BTS is a Koren K-Pop group. They are a 7-member boy band. They are the first group to have their song land on top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart and are also known for being the only Asian act to ever win an award at the American Music Awards. They have helped redefine the K-pop genre. They have influenced tourism to So...

I interviewed my mom for this blog. I have always been interested in what she liked growing up. She did not always have an easy childhood and used music as a way to cope. I decided to just do a transcription of some of the questions I asked her. I did get her sweet voice on a recording. She almost shed some tears, as she shared just how big of an impact music had on her life. This was a very special interview to me, and I am honored to have been able to interview someone so dear to my heart. Here is our interview, I hope you enjoy.  Me: Where did you get introduced to music and how? Mom's answer: My parents and my grandparents were singers. Music has just always been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. They would always sing to me. Me:   Is there any particular artist that has a significant impact on you as a child and why? Mom’s Answer: I would say all of the ones my mom would listen to like Michael Bolton, George Straight, the Eagles,...

I have sadly experienced many funerals in my young age. I have been to mostly family members funerals throughout the years. The hardest funerals i have ever experienced was one for my great grandma, she was a wonderful woman. She made sure you felt loved by her every time you stepped foot through that door. She always gave you undivided attention and always had a compliment to give. She was loved by so many people. Another funeral that was hard was when one of my best friends at the time lost her two-year-old brother. I had been around him his entire life and at the time my own brother was at that age. Funerals are always hard. One song that I have consistently heard at funerals is the song “I’ll Fly Away”.   This is one song I almost always expect to hear at a funeral. This song is almost comforting to hear at the end of a funeral, to me it brings a little bit of joy and happiness to all the sadness and grief you feel during a funeral.     ...

My name is Victoria Little. I am a sophomore majoring in Child and Family Studies with a concentration in Advocacy. I currently work as a teacher's assistant for special education. I have worked with young children since I was about thirteen years old, for almost ten years. I love being able to teach them and help them learn. I want to be able to protect children and make sure their needs are met. I love both general education and special education has taken a special space in my heart.      I have grown up in Woodruff South Carolina my entire life. I have traveled to Florida throughout my life. I have a bunch of family in Florida, so Florida is like a second home to me. I have been through all parts of Florida. I have even been to the Everglades. I love to travel, especially to warm tropical-like places. My favorite place I have ever visited is probably Bimini Bahamas. It is breathtaking, and it is so blue. I also have a Shih Tzu whose name i...
